The purpose of our church is stated like this: Burke Road Church is loving God and loving people with GRACE.

     Growing into fully devoted followers of Jesus
     Reaching out to those who don’t know God
     Assisting in service for the kingdom
     Connecting with others in biblical community
     Engaging in a lifestyle of worship

 

We wanted to teach our children these very same principles, so we created a fun “ranch style” atmosphere called GRACE RANCH.
 

 

 

What is GRACE Ranch?

Grace Ranch is a fun, interactive ministry for children 3 years through 5th grade. GRACE Ranch helps children learn to make Christ the center of their lives in an age-appropriate learning style that makes a lasting impression.

 

 

How does it work?

All children begin Sunday morning worshipping with their families. Directly before the adult message begins, the children are dismissed to GRACE Ranch where they enjoy singing, drama, crafts, games, and Bible lessons. GRACE Ranch lasts about ninety minutes, giving adults plenty of time to complete the message and attend a small group discussion before picking up their children.

 

 

Birth to 2-years 
Our youngest children do not participate in GRACE Ranch, but the nursery is open all morning (and includes a room for nursing mothers). During their time in the nursery children play and receive care from loving adults. During their time in the nursery, children will…
     Get a hands-on Bible lesson

     Sing songs
     Interact with other children
     Have lots of fun
     Be well taken care of
     And most importantly… learn how much God loves them!

 

3 to 5 years 
GRACE Ranch begins with 3 to 5 year-old children. These children participate in GRACE Ranch's group worship time, then have their own learning experience. The curriculum we are using for this age is called Noah’s Park and is designed to meet the specific learning needs of young children. They will be learning from the Bible through lots of activities, such as:
     Worship time
     Bible stories
     Skits
     Games
     Snacks
     Puppet shows
     And lots more!
 

 

1st through 5th grades
The bulk of GRACE Ranch is made up of children between 1st and 5th grades. These children are taugh from a curriculum called 252 Basics based on Luke 2:52: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” While at GRACE Ranch, children move between small and large group settings. Everyone comes together for worship and to hear the story told each week by a guest storyteller. Following the large group activities we split into two age-based groups: 1st grade through 3rd grade and 4th grade through 6th grade.In these small groups the kids will... 
     Go over the story from Bibles at their level
     Work on memory verses
     Create a craft or do an activity based on the lesson presented in the large group
We end by coming back together in the large group to recap the day's events and sing high energy praise and worship songs.
